Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is appointed by the Mayor and oversees the implementation of the Mobile Master Plan. The Planning Commission reviews and approves development applications at its monthly meetings.

City Council

City Council reviews and approves changes to the development code and individual parcels. These items are reviewed at weekly council meetings. The City Council also appoints members to the Board of Zoning adjustment and the Architectural Review Board.

Board of Zoning Adjustment

Reviews applications for changes in zoning, special exceptions to zoning rules, and variances. The Board of Zoning Adjustment also reviews appeals and administrative rulings.

Architectural Review Board

The ARB consists of design and urban planning professionals, historians, and archaeologists appointed by City Council and the Mobile Historic Development Commission. The ARB reviews development plans for sites and all exterior changes to existing properties within historic districts to ensure that they are in keeping with the historic character of the district and Design Review Guidelines for Mobile's Historic Districts.

Consolidated Review Committee

The Consolidated Review Committee reviews new construction and alterations within the Hank Aaron for compliance with Zoning regulations.
